LESS RUBBISH IN PARKS CAMPAIGN BEGINNING 12TH NOVEMBER 2018

For several months this year young carers have met in the borough parks to collect evidence and assess the scale of the problem. Their recommendations to park managers include developing a campaign to raise awareness of the problem among local people.

This campaign will include putting up posters in parks, a social media campaign and sending out postcards asking local people and schools to get involved and raise awareness of the problem in the local community.

One young carer aged 12 commented that “People should know that young carers care about the environment. If everyone cared, parks would be cleaner.”

The launch of the campaign coincides with #iwill week (12-16th November) which aims to celebrate the success of the young people who are taking part in volunteering and social action across London.
